Deploying “mobile emergency rooms” across six provinces The national pre-hospital emergency system development project, supported by a 1,000 billion VND grant from Vingroup, has successfully concluded its first phase. With the final delivery of 15 ambulances to Ha Tinh province, the program has equipped six key regions—Phu Quoc, Bac Ninh, Da Nang, Hai Phong, Khanh Hoa, and Ha Tinh—with a total of 85 specialized vehicles.
Each ambulance functions as a high-tech mobile clinic, featuring advanced ventilators, remote-connected ECG monitors, and camera-integrated intubation systems. These units strictly adhere to international standards set by the WHO and the American Heart Association, ensuring that local emergency responses meet global benchmarks.
Human resource training and operational impact Beyond hardware investment, the initiative has trained nearly 1,000 medical professionals in advanced cardiopulmonary resuscitation and trauma care. In Phu Quoc, the pilot’s earliest site, the system has shown remarkable efficiency: ambulances typically deploy in under 3 minutes and reach patients within an average of 11 minutes. This model has proven vital for both residents and international tourists, even in remote or difficult-to-access locations.
National expansion plans starting 2026 Following the success of the pilot phase, health authorities are planning to launch the second phase next year, expanding to six additional provinces. The long-term goal is to finalize the National Pre-hospital Emergency Project for Government approval by mid-2026. This initiative is viewed as a strategic breakthrough to reduce mortality and disability rates among the 1.2 million injury cases recorded annually in Vietnam, addressing a decades-old gap in the country’s medical chain of survival.
