Healthcare infrastructure upgrade through strategic merger On the morning of December 31, 2025, Ho Chi Minh City officially inaugurated Campus 2 of Gia Dinh People’s Hospital at 125 Le Loi Street, District 1. Development of an Intensive Emergency Care Hub The new campus will focus on three main professional pillars, with a primary goal of becoming a high-tech emergency center. Key initiatives include:
-
Pre-hospital Emergency Coordination: Developing rapid response scenarios for major festivals, metro station incidents, and public emergencies in the central business district.
-
Specialized Emergency Services: Expanding expertise in stroke management, myocardial infarction, obstetrics-gynecology, and pediatrics.
-
Medical Tourism: Organizing specialized healthcare services for expatriates and tourists, in collaboration with travel agencies to provide premium medical support in the city center.
A multi-polar healthcare vision for a megacity The HCMC Department of Health noted that this transition rapidly elevates a medical facility from basic treatment to specialized care. For the 2026–2031 period, the campus will undergo further infrastructure upgrades under the city’s mid-term public investment program, aiming for international standards to meet the needs of a population exceeding 14 million and a growing number of international visitors.
