Hanoi: Large-scale medical drill deployed for national event

On January 12, 2026, the Ministry of Health spearheaded a field drill to prepare healthcare and emergency response plans for the 14th National Party Congress. Under the principle of “maximum preparation for minimum utilization,” the entire healthcare system has been activated to ensure absolute safety for delegates and guests.

Healthcare infrastructure and network:

  • On-site facilities: An Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and two modern emergency rooms have been installed directly at the National Convention Center. Additionally, every delegate hotel is equipped with a dedicated emergency medical room.

  • Digital connectivity: A continuous tele-consultation system has been established, linking the on-site ICU with leading hospitals, including Huu Nghi, Bach Mai, Central Military Hospital 108, and Viet Duc Hospital.

  • Elite personnel: Top-tier experts in internal medicine, surgery, emergency resuscitation, and toxicology will be on duty 24/7. Mobile emergency teams are also on standby for any unforeseen situations.

In addition to clinical care, food safety monitoring and disease prevention have been tightened by the Hanoi Department of Health. Communication protocols are standardized through a specialized medical handbook to ensure seamless direction between the Medical Council and field teams. Multi-agency coordination among the Ministry of Health, Ministry of Public Security, and Ministry of National Defence has created a comprehensive health “shield” for the upcoming Congress.
