Ho Chi Minh City develops a major high-tech medical complex in Binh Chanh District

On January 15, Ho Chi Minh City authorities officially broke ground on a trio of key medical projects in Tan Nhut Commune, Binh Chanh District. The complex includes an international-standard blood coordination and storage facility, an out-of-hospital emergency operation center, and a laboratory quality control center. With a total investment exceeding 1,000 billion VND from the municipal budget, these projects are strategic components designed to finalize specialized medical infrastructure in the city’s western gateway.

The new Blood Bank is expected to meet European GMP standards, with a maximum capacity of 1 million units per year, ensuring supply for the city and neighboring provinces. Simultaneously, the second 115 Emergency Center will serve as a modern command hub, optimizing ambulance coordination and shortening emergency response times for the region bordering the Mekong Delta. The third component, the Laboratory Quality Control Center, will focus on standardizing diagnostic results and supporting data integration between hospitals to reduce costs for patients.

Located within the 73-hectare Tan Kien Medical Cluster, the complex is designed following a modern Institute-School model, directly linked to major transport routes like Ring Road 3 and the Metro system. Following the completion of these technical and logistical facilities, the city plans to develop large-scale specialized and teaching hospitals, aiming to establish a leading healthcare ecosystem within the ASEAN region.
