Following the government’s newly issued Decision No. 166/QĐ-TTg, the Agriculture General Hospital will officially transition from the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development to the Ministry of Health. Upon completion of the handover, the hospital will be reorganized as subordinate facilities of Viet Duc Friendship Hospital.
Key highlights of the transition:

Status quo transfer: The Ministry of Health will assume management of all personnel, finances, assets, and existing facilities of the Agriculture General Hospital located in Hanoi (Ngoc Hoi, Dang Tien Dong) and Hai Phong (Do Son).

Organizational objectives: This merger aims to streamline the administrative apparatus, optimize operational efficiency, and enhance the autonomy of public service units.

Network expansion: Viet Duc Hospital — a special-class surgical specialty facility — will expand its operational scale through these new branches, complementing its current locations in Hanoi and Ninh Binh.
In a related move, the Ministry of Health is also planning to integrate Central Hospital 71 and the Central Nursing and Rehabilitation Hospital into Hanoi Medical University as part of the nationwide restructuring of the central healthcare system.
