Two pharmaceutical firms penalized for operating beyond authorized scope

The Drug Administration of Vietnam (Ministry of Health) has issued administrative sanctions against two pharmaceutical entities following the discovery of violations related to importing and distributing drugs outside their licensed capacities.

In Bac Ninh province, Delta Medical Import-Export Co., Ltd. was fined 95 million VND. Investigations revealed that the company had imported three traditional medicinal products (Canease, Sam Tung Duong Tam, and Thong Tam Lac) on 15 separate occasions, despite not being authorized to trade in traditional medicine. In addition to the monetary fine, the company’s import operations at the infringing location have been suspended for five months.

Simultaneously, in Ho Chi Minh City, Hoang Duc Pharmaceutical and Medical Equipment Co., Ltd. received a 35 million VND fine. The violation involved the sale of Larrivey, a product classified as a drug under special control (toxic drug), to a partner who lacked the legal capacity for wholesaling such substances. This improper distribution occurred seven times.

Both enterprises are required to settle their fines with the state budget within ten days. These enforcement actions underscore the health ministry’s commitment to tightening pharmaceutical market regulations and ensuring compliance with registered business scopes.
