Enhancing professional and administrative capacity In Vietnam, AI does not replace humans but serves as a powerful “assistant” to medical professionals. This technology has proven effective in supporting medical imaging interpretation (X-rays, CT, MRI), enabling early detection of minor lesions and reducing subjective errors. In hospital administration, AI assists in scheduling, bed allocation, and supply management, thereby reducing waiting times and improving patient satisfaction.
Promoting equity in healthcare access One of AI’s most humanitarian values is its ability to bridge regional gaps. Through telehealth platforms, AI supports initial patient triaging and home health consultations, which are particularly beneficial for residents in remote areas. This empowers grassroots healthcare facilities and alleviates the burden on central-level hospitals.
Roadmap for a smart healthcare ecosystem For AI to reach its full potential, the Vietnamese health sector identifies digitized data as the core foundation. Implementing electronic medical records and interconnecting national databases under the “accurate, sufficient, clean, and live” principle is a prerequisite.
