During the third plenary session for the 2025-2030 term, the National Medical Council discussed key strategies to standardize the quality of healthcare human resources. The primary goal is to establish an objective, fair, and internationally-aligned professional competency assessment system.
Key agreements reached include defining the examination models, formats, and test structures specifically for medical doctors. The Council placed a strong emphasis on developing specialized software for question bank management and online testing administration. Ministry of Health leadership directed task forces to expedite the completion of assessment tools for the first four groups of medical practitioners while integrating practical skills components into the evaluation process.
Concluding the meeting, Prof. Dr. Tran Van Thuan, Deputy Minister of Health and Chairman of the Council, emphasized the need to review legal frameworks under the Law on Medical Examination and Treatment to ensure compliance. A comprehensive communication roadmap will also be implemented to provide clarity and stability for educational institutions and students ahead of these critical licensing exams.
