The Vietnam Food Administration, under the Ministry of Health, has issued an urgent directive to local health authorities nationwide to inspect and withdraw a large number of dietary supplements from circulation. This action follows an investigation by law enforcement into the manufacturing practices of a Hanoi-based firm.
According to investigative findings, Herbitech Technology Co., Ltd. (registered in Thanh Xuan District with a factory in Soc Son District, Hanoi) committed significant violations between 2018 and 2025. The list of infringing goods includes:
-
67 product types classified as counterfeit goods under current legal frameworks.
-
675 product types failing to meet the ingredient composition and concentration standards previously registered with authorities.
In April 2025, criminal proceedings were initiated against the company’s director and several subordinates. Beyond product quality issues, the firm is accused of accounting malpractice. Records indicate that over 121 billion VND in revenue went undeclared, resulting in a loss of more than 10 billion VND in value-added tax to the state budget.
Currently, regional market surveillance and health departments are mandated to seize these items immediately if found on the market. These agencies are also instructed to collaborate with the Ministry of Public Security to provide further evidence for legal proceedings and report back to the Ministry of Health to ensure public safety.
