CMS MAKES A $177 MILLION BET ON AI-DRIVEN DRUG DISCOVERY

China Medical System (CMS) has entered into a research collaboration and licensing agreement with Insilico Medicine to develop innovative therapies for diseases affecting the central nervous system (CNS).

Under the agreement, CMS could pay Insilico Medicine up to 1.2 billion yuan (approximately US$177 million) in milestone payments tied to the successful development and commercialization of the programs. In addition to these potential payments, Insilico is also eligible to receive royalties on future product sales if the partnered therapies reach the market.

The collaboration combines CMS’s commercial capabilities with Insilico’s artificial intelligence-powered drug discovery platform, aiming to accelerate the identification and development of new CNS therapies.
