Budget allocation for infrastructure upgrades at Nhan Dan Gia Dinh Hospital

Ho Chi Minh City authorities have officially approved a plan to utilize the local budget for renovating infrastructure at one of the city’s major medical facilities. The project focuses on refurbishing the outpatient department and the emergency unit at Nhan Dan Gia Dinh Hospital.

Project details and implementation timeline An estimated budget of 96 billion VND has been allocated for this initiative. The primary objective is to modernize the facilities, creating a standardized environment for the implementation of advanced medical techniques. According to the approved schedule, renovation work is set to commence in 2026 and is expected to be completed by 2028.

The Department of Finance and the Department of Health have been tasked with coordinating to ensure that capital is disbursed according to the project’s progress. This upgrade is expected to alleviate pressure on the regional healthcare system while meeting the growing medical needs of city residents and those from neighboring provinces.

Infrastructure context and related projects Previously, the hospital had been undertaking a large-scale project to build a new inpatient block (valued at over 600 billion VND). However, this construction faced several delays due to contractor issues, resulting in an extension of the completion deadline to late 2026.

In addition to physical infrastructure improvements, Nhan Dan Gia Dinh Hospital has reported significant growth in patient numbers, particularly among international patients at its second campus following recent mergers and operational expansions.
