The Ministry of Health recently convened a major conference to disseminate the latest legal framework governing medical infrastructure and equipment. The event was held via a hybrid format, connecting over 300 locations nationwide and involving regulatory bodies, healthcare facilities, and industry associations.
The discussions focused on five key legal themes designed to resolve administrative bottlenecks and enhance sectoral management efficiency:
-
Empowering decentralized management: Implementing regulations that delegate administrative procedures and the authority to determine standards for specialized medical equipment to local units (per Circulars 44/2025/TT-BYT and 46/2025/TT-BYT).
-
Technical standardization: Providing guidelines on classifying medical devices based on specific quality benchmarks and technical standards (Circular 57/2025/TT-BYT).
-
Regulatory updates: Amending and supplementing detailed provisions regarding medical device management to align with current operational requirements (Circular 59/2025/TT-BYT).
-
Centralized procurement initiatives: Announcing the national list of medical devices and laboratory supplies subject to centralized bidding to optimize resources and ensure transparency (Circular 01/2026/TT-BYT).
Ministry leadership emphasized that strengthening the legal framework is a top priority. These updates aim to provide a clear legal pathway, enabling organizations to be more proactive in procurement and equipment operation, ultimately improving the quality of public healthcare services.
