Health authorities have officially launched a large-scale campaign to monitor pharmaceuticals, dietary supplements, and cosmetics to safeguard consumer rights during the peak season.
To ensure public safety for the Binh Ngo Lunar New Year, the Ministry of Health has issued Plan No. 1967/KH-BYT. This decisive action aims to curb commercial fraud and counterfeit production, which typically surge during the final months of the lunar year.
Strategic objectives of the campaign
The campaign emphasizes a “zero tolerance” approach toward violations, focusing on several core tasks:
-
Strict oversight of sensitive commodities: Products such as health supplements, milk, cosmetics, and therapeutic medicines will be subject to rigorous surveillance.
-
Tight inter-agency cooperation: The Ministry of Health’s 389 Steering Committee will collaborate with the Police and local authorities to accelerate investigations into counterfeit rings and thoroughly recall substandard products from circulation.
-
Expanded operational scope: The plan mandates synchronized action from specialized departments and Health Departments across 34 key provinces and cities nationwide.
Enhancing community vigilance
In addition to inspections, regulatory bodies are focusing on public awareness to help citizens recognize the dangers of substandard goods. Transparent reporting of violating establishments is also considered a key strategy to deter offenders and assist consumers in making safer choices.
The ultimate goal of this campaign is to maintain a healthy business environment, ensure public health, and provide a safe holiday season for every family.
