Expansion and modernization plan for key medical facilities in Ho Chi Minh City

Ho Chi Minh City authorities have recently approved a public investment portfolio for a series of renovation and new construction projects at major hospitals. The core objective of this roadmap is to increase patient capacity, modernize technical infrastructure, and alleviate the overcrowding pressure on terminal-level healthcare systems.

Upgrading cardiovascular and pediatric specialties The Ho Chi Minh City Heart Institute will receive an investment of 338 billion VND to construct a high-tech cardiovascular treatment and intensive care center. The facility is expected to have 6 floors and 1 basement, focusing on specialized treatment services to meet the needs of the southern region. This project is scheduled for implementation between 2026 and 2029.

During the same period, Children’s Hospital 1 will undertake a project to build a daytime examination and treatment block with a total budget of over 979 billion VND. The new 12-story building will add 160 beds and be equipped with 36 types of modern medical devices, helping to expand the pediatric healthcare network and provide professional support to lower-level facilities.

Infrastructure development at Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital Another significant project is the construction of Block F at Nguyen Tri Phuong Hospital with a budget of 346 billion VND. This building, consisting of 3 basements and 8 floors, will provide an additional 55 beds. Upon completion, this area will serve as the primary hub for specialties such as internal gastroenterology, interventional cardiology, and advanced laboratory systems.

These projects are managed by the Management Board of Investment and Construction of Civil and Industrial Projects, ensuring that the disbursement and construction progress adhere to legal regulations for timely public service.
