Under the healthcare facility restructuring roadmap for the 2026–2030 period, two central-level medical institutions in the central region will officially change their governing body to join the system of a leading medical education provider. This transition is expected to be finalized in late January 2026, paving the way for the establishment of new medical facilities integrated within an academic environment.
Restructuring and new professional orientations Upon acquisition, these facilities will be reorganized with specific strategic directions:
-
Sam Son Campus: Focusing on fields with high demand due to demographic shifts, such as rehabilitation, geriatric care, traditional medicine, and andrology.
-
Thanh Hoa Campus: Developing under a general hospital model while prioritizing key specialties including respiratory diseases, cardiology, oncology, surgery, and nephrology.
Objectives of integrating education and clinical practice The integration of terminal-level and specialized hospitals into the university aims to optimize the existing resources of local educational branches. This model provides students and postgraduates with a direct clinical practice environment while upgrading regional healthcare quality through synchronized investment in technology and high-level personnel. This is regarded as a strategic move to elevate university hospitals toward international standards.
