Free vaccination campaign supports vulnerable groups in Central Vietnam

From March 19 to 27, 2026, the Long Chau healthcare system, in collaboration with Abbott Vietnam and local authorities, launched a community health support project in remote areas of Dak Lak and Khanh Hoa provinces. The program focuses on providing free preventive solutions to minimize risks from respiratory infectious diseases during seasonal transitions.

Key highlights of the campaign:

  • Large-scale Vaccine Support: The project provides 2,000 doses of seasonal flu vaccine entirely free of charge. Priority is given to individuals in difficult financial circumstances, children, the elderly, and those with underlying medical conditions—groups most susceptible to dangerous complications.

  • Expanding Healthcare Access: The series of activities is held directly in communes and wards across Song Cau, Tuy Hoa (Dak Lak), and Dien Khanh (Khanh Hoa). This effort aims to eliminate geographical and economic barriers, allowing remote residents to access standard medical services.

  • Consultation and General Health Checks: Beyond vaccinations, professional teams conduct screenings, measure vital signs, and disseminate proactive healthcare knowledge to help residents identify early disease symptoms.

  • Promoting Multilateral Cooperation: The program combines resources from a pharmaceutical retailer, a global healthcare corporation, and local health regulatory agencies. The long-term goal is to increase immunization coverage and build a sustainable grassroots preventive medicine network.

This initiative contributes to achieving equity in healthcare access while alleviating the burden of treatment costs for low-income households in the region.
