Strengthening the Mekong Delta medical network Three major hospitals in Can Tho—the Oncology Hospital, the City General Hospital, and Military Hospital 121—have officially entered into a comprehensive strategic partnership. This collaboration focuses on inter-hospital consultations, coordinated “red alert” emergency responses, and the shared use of high-tech medical infrastructure. The alliance aims to optimize local resources, reduce patient transfers to central levels, and establish Can Tho as a specialized medical hub for the Mekong Delta.
Breakthroughs in diagnostic imaging technology Over 40 of the latest diagnostic imaging solutions, integrated with Artificial Intelligence (AI) and cloud computing, were recently showcased in Hanoi. These systems enable the processing of massive datasets, supporting whole-body cancer screening with high resolution while maintaining safe, low radiation doses for patients.

Despite an impressive number of international publications, the rate of medical research in Vietnam being converted into commercial products remains modest. The new policy will focus on applying advanced treatment techniques, vaccine production, and new drug development.
