Thong Nhat Hospital launches two new specialized units for regenerative medicine and aesthetics

On February 26, 2026, Thong Nhat Hospital in Ho Chi Minh City officially inaugurated the Center for Regenerative and Rehabilitative Medicine alongside the Medical Aesthetics Unit. This strategic initiative aims to transition healthcare services from conventional treatment to a multidisciplinary intervention model, focusing on tissue functional recovery and enhancing life quality amid an aging population.

The Center for Regenerative and Rehabilitative Medicine operates by integrating various specialties, including orthopedics, dermatology, and plastic surgery. This integrated approach allows for comprehensive health assessments, which are particularly beneficial for elderly patients experiencing multi-organ decline. Initially, the center will focus on treating musculoskeletal conditions, tendon injuries, and ligament damage using advanced biological methods such as Platelet-Rich Plasma (PRP) and autologous biological products.

Regarding technical orientation, the unit is adopting modern medical trends, including the application of exosomes and tissue-specific stem cells to maximize therapeutic outcomes. To support professional activities, the hospital has established research partnerships with domestic academic institutions and international medical partners from Japan.

Simultaneously, the Medical Aesthetics Unit (under the Department of Dermatology – Allergy and Immunology) has commenced operations to provide cosmetic care services based on rigorous medical safety standards. The establishment of these two units marks the hospital’s commitment to developing a specialized medical ecosystem focused on geriatrics and long-term care.
