A new milestone in medical self-sufficiency has been established following an equipment supply agreement between the Vietnam Vaccine Joint Stock Company (VNVC) and the German technology group Syntegon. The project focuses on equipping the Tay Ninh-based factory with world-leading vaccine production systems, placing this facility among the top 20 global units possessing the most synchronized operational technology from the German partner.
The technical highlight of the production line lies in the “No Touch Transfer” technology and robotic systems operating within fully isolated chambers. This process allows for maximum automation from packaging supply to final packing, ensuring absolute sterility and precise dosing for every unit. The system is capable of flexibly producing various formats, including liquid vials, freeze-dried vials, syringes, and pens at speeds of hundreds of units per minute, meeting the most stringent standards such as EU-GMP and US-FDA.
With an initial investment of over 2,500 billion VND, the project is expected to be fully operational by late 2027, with an annual capacity of 100 million doses. Mastering core technologies from industrial powerhouses like Germany is expected to help Vietnam localize critical vaccines, strengthen national health security, and elevate its position in the global pharmaceutical value chain.
